Take your blog content to the next level with these easy tips

As bloggers, we are constantly trying to produce the best blog content possible. To do so, we use the help of many keyword search engines, plugins and reference articles. However, only a small percentage of bloggers have a concrete blog content strategy to create engaging and useful articles for their audience.

After conduct some research into the blogging industry I was able to determine the trends between high-ranking blog posts. There is a certain content strategy behind every high-quality blog post, a secret formula if you will. With that said, you can start creating high-quality blog content in minutes by implementing these simple steps.

What is high-quality blog content and why is it important?

High-quality blog content is descriptive, engaging, informative and useful articles created for a certain target audience. An ideal blog post should be 1500+ words, have many visuals, different text formats and designed for a suited audience to be considered high-quality.

Determine where your blog content ranks using the infographic below:

Google ranks your blog based on the quality of what's on it (your content). If your articles are only 200 words each and have no pictures. You're probably not to rank as high as a blog with a defined content strategy.

In addition, when you consider your audience, the quality of your blog content is important as well. If your articles aren't providing any value to them or effectively helping them solve a problem in their life, you will start to lose readers.

The Secret To High-Quality Blog Content

Determine What Your Audience Wants

Have you ever received a really crappy Christmas gift? If you have, it was most likely from a family member or friend that you don't see too often and doesn't know you too well.

Don't give your audience crappy Christmas gifts.

Keep your audience in mind when you're planning your next blog post. Is this something that will help them with an issue in their lives? Does this article provide any value to them? If not, you might have to consider another topic.

A trick to staying in tune with your audience is following your niche. If you are a finance blog and are considering writing a post about your pet dog, you know you're doing something wrong because it is off-brand.

Find Your Target Audience

Your target audience is essentially your ideal reader. When your writing your blog post who do you imagine on the other side of the computer reading it?

Once you've determined who your target audience is, you have to find a way to reach them at let them know your writing content for them.

Knowing your target audience down to a tee will help you determine what they want and create high-quality blog content for them.

Look At What's Trending

Another way to determine what your audience wants is to look at what's trending amongst them. I use websites such as Google Trends to keep up to date with popular lifestyle topics. You can also use Twitter, but I don't recommend it because Twitter trends are usually only 24hr and you need something with a longer time length.

If you're willing to put in the time, an alternative is to conduct some research into your competition. Take a look at your competitors and see what articles from their blogs are trending and then try to put out something better.

Plan Accordingly

Bottom line: get to know your audience. What type of content do they like? What problems are they trying to solve? Then create your blog content accordingly.

Do Your Research

A common trend I found between top-ranking blog posts is that they all had statistics or credentials backing up what they were saying. They weren't just writing meaningless facts, everything had some research behind it. It's important when creating blog content to do some prior research.

Research Your Topic

By writing a blog post about a certain topic you're basically saying to your readers "I'm an expert and I'm here to help you." You're readers expect something when they open your post and if you aren't giving it to them they are most likely going to click off.

So if you want to write a blog post about a certain topic but know nothing about it become an expert. Do your research.

Research Your Keywords

SEO is important for all bloggers with high-ranking articles. I'm no SEO expert, but I know the basics. A few days ago I knew nothing then I took the Herpaper Route: free Seo course and now I feel like an expert.

Overall, SEO does play a big role in your blog content. It makes sure that your article is falling into the right category and is being seen by the right people. Having a concrete SEO strategy can extremely improve your blog content in the long run.

Outline Your Blog Content

Properly Format Your Blog Content
